It's Back, and It's Better!

Summer swim season is almost here…time for your children to start getting in the swimming groove! Want to refresh skills?  Learn a flip turn?  Have your five year old ready for his first summer league practice?  Raleigh Swimming Association (RSA) is pleased to announce the return of RSA in Maypril!

Firefish (6&U Intro to Swim Team)

The Firefish Clinic is offered in a weekday option from 5:30 pm to 6:15 pm (Tuesdays and Thursdays) and a weekend option from 2:00 pm to 2:45 pm (Saturdays and Sundays) . RSA coaches teach children who will be six years old or younger on June 1, 2015 the elements of Freestyle, Backstroke, and Breaststroke in our warm water instructional pool. By maintaining a 1:6 coach to swimmer ratio, we are able to provide your child with a kick start to swim team

Track Out Tripletails

The Tripletails practice on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10:00am to 11:00am for two consecutive weeks during Track 3 and Track 4 track outs. RSA coaches work with the swimmers to evaluate technique and refine strokes. Focus areas include the four strokes (Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke, and Butterfly), diving and turns. Note: Athlete must be able to swim unassisted.

Weekend Wahoos

The Weekend Wahoos practice on Saturdays from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm and on Sundays from 2:00 pm to 3:00pm for four consecutive weeks. RSA coaches work with the swimmers to evaluate technique and refine strokes. Focus areas include the four strokes (Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke, Butterfly), diving and turns. Note: Athlete must be able to swim unassisted.

Team

Team Clinics are offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:00 pm to 9:00 pm over eight sessions from March 3rd through May 7th (excluding the week of March 30th). The focus is on proper technique for strokes, turns and starts. Cost is $99 per participant or $75 per participant for teams with 25 participants or more. Park Village needs Head Coach and Assistant Coach

The Park Village swim team is looking to hire a Head Coach and an Assistant Coach for the upcoming swim season.

Park Village is a neighborhood team located in Cary off of Davis Drive. Practices are held M-F from 8:00-10:00 am and M-Th 4:30-7:30 pm. Our team typically has around 100 swimmers.

Park at West Lake seeks Assistant Coach

The Park at West Lake Stingrays are looking for an Assistant Coach for the upcoming 2015 summer season. The Stingray Swim Team is in our fourth year of competition in TSA and our numbers have consistently grown. We are located off of West Lake Road by the West Lake and Middle Creek schools.

The Stingrays are looking for an energetic assistant coach who loves kids! The Assistant Coach should preferably have experience with teaching lessons and also with coaching, though not formally required.

Our practices are Monday, Tuesday and Thursday’s from 5:45 pm to 8 pm, and Saturday mornings from 8:30 am to 10:00 am. The season starts 5/18/2015 and goes through the end of July. Meet start in early June and are held on Tuesday evenings. The season runs from mid-May to the end of July.

Competitive pay is offered and there is bonus potential as well.

Required Experience and Certifications
·         Active Red Cross certification in CPR and Community First Aid that remains           current through the entire 2015 swim season.
·         Effective communication skills with parents and children

Heritage Wake Forest Betas: Head Coach Position Available


The Heritage Wake Forest Betas are searching for a Head Swim Coach for the summer TSA season.  We have ~160 swimmers and are currently ranked as the top team in Division 2 of the Northern League.  We have a 10-lane pool and offer swim team practice Monday through Friday from ~5:00 to 8:00 pm.  The Betas have an experienced Swim Team Board and TSA Rep who look forward to working together with the Head Coach to coordinate practices, provide mentoring for the coach as needed, and assist with meet management.  Primary duties for the Head Coach include running practices, coordinating with the assistant coaches, and assisting with swim order for the six dual meets of the season. We value sportsmanship, team building, and promoting swimming as a life-long sport.

Head coach and assistant coach positions available at Planters Walk in Knightdale

The Planters Walk Piranhas are in search of a Head Swim Coach and Assistant Coach for the summer TSA season. We are a team of about 90-100 swimmers of varying levels from basic stroke technique to more advanced age groupers and senior swimmers. The Head Coach will work alongside the Parent Committee members to coordinate meet activities, schedule practices and be a team advocate. Primary responsibilities are running practices and working with assistant coaches to teach, train, and promote the sport of swimming for all age group swimmers ages 6-18. The Head Coach will have input into many team decisions and be an integral part of the organization.

We will train May through July in our neighborhood’s 6 lane, 25 yard outdoor pool located in the Planters Walk subdivision in Knightdale. Typical practice hours are evenings 5:00 to 8:00 (across different age groups) plus morning practices after the end of the traditional calendar school year.

Status: Part-time, non-exempt - no more than 20 hours per week.

The summer swim team at Carpenter Village in Cary is looking for swim coaches for the upcoming summer league season. If you are looking for a fun and exciting opportunity, then look no further! Cary Park Sea Dragons need a head coach for Summer 2015!

The Cary Park Sea Dragons are looking for a head coach for the upcoming 2015 summer season. Cary Park is a large team with a strong swimming program and has competed in Divisions 1 and 2 over the past few years.

Cary Park is looking for a coach with extensive swim coaching experience, ideally as a Head Coach or an Assistant Head Coach.  They should communicate enthusiasm among all the children on the Cary Park Swim Team and fully support the goals of the competitive program as well as showing and teaching good sportsmanship to all swimmers. The ideal candidate would have strong stroke technique teaching skills to all levels of swimmer. Candidates should be available to coach evenings from 4:30 to 7:30, Saturday mornings, and weekday mornings from 8:00 to 10:00 once school is out. All our meets are conducted on Tuesday evenings. The season runs from mid-May to the end of July.

Required Experience and Certifications
·         Active Red Cross certification in Lifeguard Training, CPR and Community First Aid that remains current through the entire 2015 swim season.
·         Experience supervising and training other swim coaches.
·         Experience with Meet Manager and electronic meet entries.

JCC J-Rays Looking for a Head Coach

The JCC J-Rays swim team is hiring a Head Coach.  We are seeking an enthusiastic individual who is looking to build relationships and coach a team where sportsmanship and striving to do your personal best is the top priority. The head coach must be an organized individual with proficiency in stroke mechanics, the ability to motivate swimmers of all ages and skill levels, and strong communication skills with parents and swimmers

Duties include, but are not limited to: day-to-day team operations, supervision of coaching staff, development and supervision of age group appropriate workouts, assisting in preparing and submitting meet entries, attending swim team planning/parent meetings. The position is part-time from May 15 through July 22. Coach must be available weekday afternoons/evenings for practices, Sunday mornings for practices in June, all day Tuesday for swim meets, and occasional weekend days for invitational swim meets. The ideal candidates will have prior swim team coaching experience, competitive swim team experience, and be proficient with preparing for meets. Knowledge of TSA rules and regulations as well as TSA Swim software is helpful.
