TSA Championship - 2012 Team Assignments

Hello TSA Reps-

Here it is! The team assignments for the newly reconstituted TSA Championship. How did we do this? When we divided the teams into their even/odd rankings we ended up with several hundred more swimmers eligible to swim on one day, not the other. So, we used an A-B-B-A ranking system to assign teams and that magically derived a schedule with roughly the same number of swimmers eligible to swim each day.

Tuesday Night TSA Board Meeting

Our March meeting for 2012 will be this Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Triangle Aquatic Center (TAC), located at 275 Convention Drive in Cary (Exit 291 from I-40, then turn left into Cary Towne Center mall at first traffic signal). Click here for the agenda. TSA Reps: Please print out a copy of the agenda and bring it with you. We will have a very limited number available at the meeting. Also, please take a moment to review the minutes from the February meeting.

We are voting on the dual meet schedule.

Coaching Clinic announcement

Each season the clinics committee schedules a clinic for coaches at a North Division Club and a South Division Club in May.

Northbrook is hosting a Coaching Clinic on Wednesday, May 23 in their clubhouse. The time is 7:00 PM. Clubs must send at least one coach to a Coach’s clinic each year.

Last season several clubs inquired about whether their coaches attended and what type of material was presented. Instructors are experienced coaches that provide excellent information as well as useful resources to help your coaches. For more information about a coaching clinic review a presentation from a previous coaching clinic. We take attendance at these clinics.

Another Coaching Clinic is also planned and the date in May is pending. Watch the TSA blog and your email for additional clinic announcements. If you have questions please contact Tony McCullough from the clinics committee.

Kitts Creek in Morrisville in need of a Coach

Kitts Creek is a fantastic community located in Morrisville. We are excited to be an exhibition team this year, and we are in need of a great coach. After a successful swim clinic season last year, our team looks to be close to 60 swimmers this year. We are looking for a high energy coach who can run early evening practices beginning May 29th through July 20th with the help of our current coaches. There is a possibility of an additional morning practice starting after June 11th. Must be able to teach stroke and turn fundamentals as well as racing preparedness while maintaining a fun, high-spirited environment. CPR and FIRST AID certification required. Assistant Coach needed

Park Village is looking for an Assistant Coach for the upcoming summer swim season. We are a neighborhood swim team located in Cary off of Davis Drive. Our team typically has around 100 swimmers. Coaches must be available to work weekdays during afternoon team practices beginning May 29th, and morning and afternoon practices beginning June 11th.
