Cecil L Williamson TSA Educational Grant Winners announced

The TSA Board of Directors is pleased to award the Cecil L Williamson TSA Educational grants. On Friday (7/22/22), TSA President Tracey Mizell and TSA Secretary Jenny Smith drew 25 random names from the final list of eligible TSA graduating seniors for the Cecil L Williamson TSA Educational Grant. The list of winners is below. Each winner will receive an Educational Grant in the amount of $400. These checks will be mailed by mid-August to the address on record for each swimmer when their application was entered. Congratulations to all the winners!

This is a great way to get a 3 week head start on the summer swim season as well as receive expert technical instruction in a fun environment. Crooked Creek Crocs (Fuquay-Varina) is Hiring Coaches


 The Crooked Creek Crocs, a community pool located in Fuquay-Varina, is hiring coaches for the 2022 summer season. The Crocs are seeking applicants to join our coaching staff.

The primary goal of the Crooked Creek Crocs is to offer a fun and competitive summer swim program to the youth of the Crooked Creek Community. The coaches' key objectives are to aid swimmers in mastering strokes, setting and achieving goals, practicing good sportsmanship, and developing confidence through swimming.

The positions run from the beginning of May through July. The work schedule will include weekday evening and morning practices and 8 meets throughout the season (includes mock meet and championship meet).

Duties include, but are not limited to, developing seasonal goals, workouts, creating meet lineups, coaching throughout swim meets, data entry, assisting with set up and tear down of meets, and keeping records and reports, as necessary.

Coaches Positions Open - Summerfield North Stingrays

 Summerfield North Stingrays are looking for an experienced team of coaches for our young members (4-17 years) who participate in the Summerfield North Stingrays Swim Team from late May through mid-July, 20-25 hours/week. Energetic personalities encouraged, must be able to maintain structure while still providing a fun instructional environment. We have roughly 100 swimmers on our team, fairly even divided among age groups. Our pool is located In North Raleigh on Strickland Road between Falls of Neuse and Six Forks.

We are looking for a Head Coach, Assistant Coach, and Six-and-Under Coach.

Qualifications:

    18+ for Head Coach and Assistant Coach positions

    Collegiate-level swimming experience for Head Coach position

Able to provide coaching that is technically and developmentally age appropriate.

Able to handle groups of children of all ages

Works well with other adults and able to delegate responsibilities accordingly 

Lifeguard/CPR Certification

Responsibilities:

    Setup scheduling for Assistant Coaching Staff and lead them into becoming good coaches and practicing safety at all times (Head Coach)

   Plan team practice and meet schedules, including coach scheduling and meet entry assignments/line-ups

   Assist with setting goals and expectations for Assistant Coaches and delegating tasks to achieve them (Head Coach)

 

Input swimmer data into programs necessary for all meets and posting meet heat sheets for all TSA dual meets

Proactively establish and maintain good swim team parent relations which includes providing appropriate levels of access and communication

Lead the coaches and swim team at all meets

Be on deck before swimmers begin practice to greet swimmers and parents

Participate in all team activities and events including the banquet, spirit events, and team bonding events.

Six-and-Under Coach will be responsible for running practice for our youngest group under the supervision of one of the other coaches. Head and Assistant Coaches will be responsible for overseeing Six-and-Under Coach as necessary. 

Each coach is responsible for working independently as well as on the team to further each swimmer’s goals. 


*Compensation will be competitive and determined by experience and qualifications.*

The Charleston Village Crocodiles Swim Team is seeking a head coach and assistant coach for the 2022 summer swim season. Essential Job Functions:

  • Work with swimmers from 4-18 to develop their knowledge of competitive swimming

  • Encourage participation in meets

  • Help swimmers build confidence in their strokes

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of the four basic strokes (free, breast, back and butterfly)

  • Ability to teach techniques to improve swimmers, skills

  • Must be available for the season May-July

  • Must be able to attend meets on Tuesday in the summer

  • Experience in coaching preferred 

  • Head Coach must be 18 years or older

Head Coaching Opportunity - Abbington Alligators Swim Team

Abbington Alligators Swim Team - TSA 2019 Division 3 Champions The Abbington Alligators Swim Team is seeking a professional, dedicated CoHead Coach for the 2022 summer season. Having first fielded a team in 1999, Abbington has grown from a team of 50 swimmers to around 155 swimmers ages 4-18 years old. As we enter our 22st year, we are looking towards another great season. We desire coaches who will motivate and teach swimmers while maintaining a fun and exciting team and family atmosphere. Our swim season runs from mid May through late July. We provide very competitive pay for our coaches. Duties will include, but are not limited to: day-to-day team management, development and supervision of age group appropriate workouts, assisting in preparing and submitting meet entries, attending swim team planning/parent meetings. Head Coach needed - Oxxford Hunt Swampfoxxes

 The Oxxford Hunt Swim Team has an open Head Coach position for the upcoming 2022 swim season!


Our Head Coach will lead the coaching staff and our approximately 115 swimmers with enthusiasm and positivity while promoting sportsmanship and teamwork. As a closely knit neighborhood team it is imperative the coaching staff works to help every Oxxford Hunt swimmer feel important by providing quality instruction and encouragement. The Head Coach will work closely with 2-3 Assistant Coaches (who are already on deck for next season) to develop and execute practice/training sessions that will support individual swimmer and team goals and improvement.

The season begins mid-May with daily (Monday-Friday) practices and runs through mid-July.  Coaches must be available for afternoon practices the entire season and morning practices in June and July. General Head/Assistant Coach Duties:

  • Attend team functions/events

  • Prepare lineups and heat sheets prior to meets

  • Communicate professionally, effectively and proactively with swimmers, parents, coaches and the swim team board

 

Qualifications:

  • Previous swimming experience (competitive or recreational swimming/coaching)

  • Ability to attend and lead morning and afternoon practice sessions.

  • Lifeguard/First Aid/CPR certifications not required but a plus.

  • Knowledge of TSA rules and regulations a plus.


Pay Range: $3,000 - $4,000, depending on prior experience
