Swim Coach Needed at Garner Heather Hills

We are in need of a Head Coach and Assistant Swim Coach for Garner - Heather Hills Swim Club.

You will be working from the end of May through the middle of July. Practice will meet in the evenings and on Saturday mornings.

The primary goal of the Garner Dolphins is to offer a fun and competitive summer swim program to the youth of the Heather Hills community. The key objectives of the coaching staff are to aid swimmers in mastering strokes, setting and achieving goals, practicing good sportsmanship and developing confidence through swimming.

Minutes of the February Board of Directors meeting are now available for review. Please contact me if you spot any errors or omissions so that corrections can be made prior to the next meeting.

MOR IN MAY (and April!)

The Marlins of Raleigh (MOR) Swim Team is offering its annual MOR IN MAY Swim Clinic starting April 22 through May 11.  The clinic will be offered in three area indoor pool locations:

• (1) Ravenscroft School in North Raleigh, (M-W-F & T-Th-Sat available)
• (2) St. Mary's School in Central Raleigh, (M-W-F & T-Th-Sat available), and
• (3) Riverwood Golf & Athletic Club in Clayton (M-W-Th)

Please print the application and send it in with a check payable to MOR for just $90 per student.  The 3-week clinic runs three days each week for an hour of valuable swim instruction each day.  Bring a friend and have fun together learning or revisiting skills on all four strokes and turns.  This is a great refresher clinic for summer swim leaguers and will get you started out on the right foot this summer.

The MOR IN MAY Clinic usually fills quickly.  Applications are being taken now for the clinic and will be halted once each facility reaches capacity.  Coaches include members of the MOR year-round coaching staff and other area swim instructors. Hope to see many of our past attendees returning again for another great clinic.

ABBINGTON ALLIGATORS - SEEKING Swim Team Coach & Assistant Coach

The Abbington Alligators Swim Team is seeking a professional, dedicated Head Coach and dedicated Assistant Coach for the 2016 summer season.  Having first fielded a team in 1999, Abbington has grown from a team of 50 swimmers to around 200 swimmers ages 4-18 years old.  As we enter our 17th year, we are looking towards another great season. We desire coaches who will motivate and teach swimmers while maintaining a fun and exciting team and family atmosphere.  Our swim season runs from Mid May through late July.  We provide competitive pay for our coaches.

The successful candidate's skills should include:

Head Coach

- Must be over 18 years of age
- Preferred swimming at college level - Competitive or Club
- Two or more seasons of swim coach experience at a rec level is preferable
- Ability to demonstrate good sportsmanship for teaching and motivating young
   swimmers
- Enjoy working with swimmers of all ages including pre-competitive and competitive level
  swimmers
- Ability to teach proper stroke technique
- Ability to manage Junior and Assistant Coaches
- Ability to work with other coaches to develop swim meet line-ups
- Must have access to e-mail and text
- Experience and understanding of Hy-Tek Meet Manager software is preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Must be certified in First Aid, CPR, and Certified Water Safety Instructor

Assistant Coach

- Preferred swimming at college level - Competitive or Club
- Coaching experience preferred
- Ability to demonstrate good sportsmanship for teaching and motivating young
   swimmers- Enjoy working with swimmers of all ages including pre-competitive and competitive level
  swimmers
- Ability to teach proper stroke technique
- Ability to manage Junior and Assistant Coaches
- Ability to work with other coaches to develop swim meet line-ups

2013 Wolfpack Swim Camps

After a very successful 2012 summer of swim camps, Wolfpack Swim Camps are back for 2013!  

Camp Options are:

• Day Camp (ages 6-12) - June 17-21  |   9:00am-12:00pm  
• Overnight/Commuter Camp 1 (ages 9-18) | June 12-16
• Overnight/Commuter Camp 2 (ages 9-18)  |  July 7-11  

Costs: $135 (Day Camp) | $530 (Overnight) | $350 (Commuter)
*Those who register before April 1 will receive free Adidas NC State bag

The camps are perfect for summer league swimmers, year-round swimmers, or kids who just love to swim and are the most economical choice of all university swim camps in the Raleigh/Triangle area. 

We are seeing a very high number of returning campers, and camp spots are filling quickly, so please register early!  We do offer a 10% team discount for 5 or more from the same team and also offer a 10% sibling discount on second (third, etc) sibling.
