Marlins of Raleigh Swim Team

TSA Swimmers,

I know some of you have an active summer swimming program underway while, unfortunately, some were unable to offer a program this season.  Swimming will return  to normal at some point, but we want to make you aware of swimming opportunities that you can take advantage of right now.

The Marlins Of Raleigh Swim Team (MOR) is the only team in North Carolina that has achieved Podium Club Status in USA Swimming's Club Excellence program by virtue of achieving Gold Medal status 4 years in a row.  In fact, MOR is one of only 5 teams in the US and the only team in the Southeast to be so recognized.  In addition, MOR had 15 swimmers qualified for the 2020 US Olympic Trials, one of the highest totals in the US.  Yet there are 650 MOR swimmers and not all of them are Olympic Trials qualifiers.  For that matter, our Olympic Trials Qualifiers were all beginners at one point and were taught and prepared by the MOR staff to focus on details, how to work hard and set goals and have fun which allowed them to attain their dreams.  Young swimmers at MOR can achieve excellence as well as our 10-Under girls broke both 10-Under National Age Group records last summer.  They are all TSA summer swimmers, just like you!

MOR was one of the first teams in the US to return to swimming following state and national guidelines.  We developed protocols which allowed swim practice to occur in a clean, safe environment.  We are continuing those efforts today.   The CDC states that swimming is one of the safest activities to participate in as the chlorine kills the COVID-19 virus.  Additionally, the CDC states that exercise is essential for the physical and mental well-being of young people.

MOR's 2020-2021 season begins September 8th and our registration is now open.  But don't wait too long to sign up, as we expect to fill all of our spots by late July for some groups and early August for others.  We have convenient locations and you need to be evaluated by one of our staff.  In order to schedule an evaluation, contact:

North Raleigh-Cara Cameron    coachcara45@aol.com

Cary-Lindsay Takkunen            coachlindsaymor@gmail.com
Clayton-John Fischetti              jfischetti@aol.com

Or you may call the MOR office at 919-851-3000.

We look forward to meeting you and starting you on your path to success in and out of the pool.
