Lakepark Swim Team is looking for Assistant Coaches!
The primary goals of the Lakepark Blue Marlins (LPK) are to offer a fun and competitive summer swim program to the youth of the LPK Community. The key objectives we look for in our coaches are to aid swimmers in mastering strokes, setting and achieving goals, practicing good sportsmanship and developing confidence through swimming.
Job Description:
The position runs from the beginning of May through the end of July. Work schedule includes weekday mornings and evenings, as well as eight (8) swim meets throughout the season (Including two weekend meets).
Job Duties:

Inspiring swimmers to enjoy the sport of swimming while fostering team spirit and sportsmanship.

Be present at practice and help instruct in and out of the water including all aspects of competitive swimming, including skill development, endurance training, starts, flip turns and relay exchanges.

Participation throughout entire swim meets, including set up, warm-ups, practice starts, all events, take down etc.

Preparation of meet rosters and relay assignments to balance fair participation and competitive strategy.

Plan and implement practice workouts for swimmers of all ages

Make swimmers aware of previous night’s DQ’s and help swimmers rectify their errors
Minimum Requirements:
-
Competitive swimming experience (Summer or year-round)

Strong communication and organizational skills with swimmers, parents, and other coaches.

The ability to demonstrate proper sportsmanship to coaches, swimmers and parents, and ability to demonstrate diplomacy in interactions with other coaches

The ability to demonstrate energy and enthusiasm for teaching and motivating young swimmers. A true love for working with swimmers of all ability levels including pre-competitive and competitive level swimmers, a passion about teaching proper stroke technique and sportsmanship

Lifeguard/CPR/First Aid or equivalent training preferred
