Shepherd's Vineyard Killer Whales - 2023 Coaching Opportunities

The Shepherd's Vineyard Killer Whales in Apex are currently accepting applications for FULL TIME & PART TIME coaches for our 2023 summer swim team.

Our Killer Whale team usually numbers around 200 swimmers and we swim in the TSA League, with the season running from late May to the end of July.

We offer about 8 practices per week, an intrasquad time trials meet, 6 dual meets, social/spirit events, an awards night and an end of season pool party.

Our team also recently restarted our swim development program for younger swimmers (4-8yo) who are not yet ready to compete in the Killer Whales meets. We are currently looking for a part time coach to head up this junior swim program. (Could convert to full time coach with additional hours coaching on the Killer Whales team). This program will offer about 5 hours of practice per week and it will run 7 or 8 weeks in June & July.

Charleston Village Crocs Is Seeking Swim Team Coaches

The Charleston Village Crocodiles Swim Team is seeking applicants for head coach and assistant coach for the 2023 summer swim season. Our team of 90 kids will be starting their 17th season this summer

Essential Job Functions (both position unless indicated):

• Work with swimmers from 4-18 to develop their knowledge of competitive swimming

• Establish leveled practice schedules and workouts

• HEAD COACH: Lead assistant coach and junior coaches by providing direction, expectations, and roles during practice and meets. 

• ASSISTANT COACH: Assist head coach in communicating and directing junior coaches.

• Create a good rapport with the swimmers and parents

• Provide informative feedback to swimmers

• Collaborate with the CVC board

• Encourage participation in meets

• Help swimmers build confidence in their strokes

• Provide a fun and positive environment for the swimmers and their families

Requirements (both positions):

• Knowledge of the four basic strokes (free, breast, back and butterfly)

• Ability to teach techniques to improve swimmers, skills

• Must be available for the season May-July

• Experience in coaching preferred 

• Head Coach must be 17 years or older

• Must be available for practice. Tentative practice schedule is Monday, Wednesday, and Thursdays from 4:30pm to 8:15pm, and Saturday Morning from 8:45 am to 9:30 am.

Cary Park Swim Team Accepting Coaching Applications for Summer 2023

The Cary Park Swim Team is looking for experienced swim coaches who have an enthusiasm for  swimming, enjoy coaching all levels of swimmers, have a serious  appreciation for water safety, and who have a fun-loving and energetic spirit. We are now accepting applications for the 2023 Summer Season (May 15 - July 25th 2023).  

All applicants should expect to be available afternoons (4-7:30 pm M-Th, and later on Tuesdays for meets beginning in mid-June) and mornings M-Sat 8-11:30 am. Morning Saturday practices begin May 20th. Weekday morning practices begin June 12th. There are two Championship meets the weekends of July 15-16 and July 22-23 that coaches should also plan to attend.

CPSD Head Coach Job Description

• Implements a strong instructive/goal-oriented Swimming Program for all swimmers of the Cary Park Sea Dragons Swim Team, ages 4-18.
• Supervises entire coaching staff to optimize their maximum potential within the framework of their coaching abilities and to provide consistent instruction to all swimmers
  • Work with coaching staff to seed all swimmers at each of the 8 swim meets.
• Provides instruction on each of the 4 basic stroke skills necessary for competitive swimming in TSA.
• Communicate enthusiasm among all the swimmers on the Cary Park Sea Dragons Swim Team and fully support the goals of the competitive program.
• Show and teach good sportsmanship to all swimmers.
• Willing to swim in the Coaches' Relays
• Attendance at all practices and meets is required

Cecil L Williamson TSA Educational Grant Winners announced

The TSA Board of Directors is pleased to award the Cecil L Williamson TSA Educational grants. On Friday (7/22/22), TSA President Tracey Mizell and TSA Secretary Jenny Smith drew 25 random names from the final list of eligible TSA graduating seniors for the Cecil L Williamson TSA Educational Grant. The list of winners is below. Each winner will receive an Educational Grant in the amount of $400. These checks will be mailed by mid-August to the address on record for each swimmer when their application was entered. Congratulations to all the winners!

Crooked Creek Crocs (Fuquay-Varina) is Hiring Coaches

 The Crooked Creek Crocs, a community pool located in Fuquay-Varina, is hiring coaches for the 2022 summer season. The Crocs are seeking applicants to join our coaching staff.

The primary goal of the Crooked Creek Crocs is to offer a fun and competitive summer swim program to the youth of the Crooked Creek Community. The coaches' key objectives are to aid swimmers in mastering strokes, setting and achieving goals, practicing good sportsmanship, and developing confidence through swimming.

The positions run from the beginning of May through July. The work schedule will include weekday evening and morning practices and 8 meets throughout the season (includes mock meet and championship meet).

Duties include, but are not limited to, developing seasonal goals, workouts, creating meet lineups, coaching throughout swim meets, data entry, assisting with set up and tear down of meets, and keeping records and reports, as necessary.

Coaches Positions Open - Summerfield North Stingrays

 Summerfield North Stingrays are looking for an experienced team of coaches for our young members (4-17 years) who participate in the Summerfield North Stingrays Swim Team from late May through mid-July, 20-25 hours/week. Energetic personalities encouraged, must be able to maintain structure while still providing a fun instructional environment. We have roughly 100 swimmers on our team, fairly even divided among age groups. Our pool is located In North Raleigh on Strickland Road between Falls of Neuse and Six Forks.

We are looking for a Head Coach, Assistant Coach, and Six-and-Under Coach.

Qualifications:

    18+ for Head Coach and Assistant Coach positions

    Collegiate-level swimming experience for Head Coach position

Able to provide coaching that is technically and developmentally age appropriate.

Able to handle groups of children of all ages

Works well with other adults and able to delegate responsibilities accordingly 

Lifeguard/CPR Certification

Responsibilities:

    Setup scheduling for Assistant Coaching Staff and lead them into becoming good coaches and practicing safety at all times (Head Coach)

   Plan team practice and meet schedules, including coach scheduling and meet entry assignments/line-ups

   Assist with setting goals and expectations for Assistant Coaches and delegating tasks to achieve them (Head Coach)

 

Input swimmer data into programs necessary for all meets and posting meet heat sheets for all TSA dual meets

Proactively establish and maintain good swim team parent relations which includes providing appropriate levels of access and communication

Lead the coaches and swim team at all meets

Be on deck before swimmers begin practice to greet swimmers and parents

Participate in all team activities and events including the banquet, spirit events, and team bonding events.

Six-and-Under Coach will be responsible for running practice for our youngest group under the supervision of one of the other coaches. Head and Assistant Coaches will be responsible for overseeing Six-and-Under Coach as necessary. 

Each coach is responsible for working independently as well as on the team to further each swimmer’s goals.

 The Oxxford Hunt Swim Team has an open Head Coach position for the upcoming 2022 swim season!

Our Head Coach will lead the coaching staff and our approximately 115 swimmers with enthusiasm and positivity while promoting sportsmanship and teamwork. As a closely knit neighborhood team it is imperative the coaching staff works to help every Oxxford Hunt swimmer feel important by providing quality instruction and encouragement. The Head Coach will work closely with 2-3 Assistant Coaches (who are already on deck for next season) to develop and execute practice/training sessions that will support individual swimmer and team goals and improvement.

The season begins mid-May with daily (Monday-Friday) practices and runs through mid-July.  Coaches must be available for afternoon practices the entire season and morning practices in June and July. HEAD COACH JOB POSITION - SUNSET RIDGE BARRACUDAS

 The Sunset Ridge Barracudas Swim Team program is seeking one experienced Head Coach for the 2022 swim season.  

The Sunset Ridge Barracudas are a well-established team located Holly Springs, NC.  We are looking for a high-energy, motivated individual to lead approximately 300 swimmers of all ability levels in our developmental and competitive summer swim league, as well as coordinate and manage our assistant and junior coaches.  

The ideal candidate would have head coaching experience, strong leadership and communication skills, the ability to connect with children from grades K-12, and an infectious enthusiasm for the sport of swimming. The candidate will work closely with Board members and junior coaching staff to carry out the many day-to-day responsibilities of the coaching staff.

The responsibilities of the job include:

• Promote a fun, safe, and team-oriented environment.
• Be a role model for the swimmers.
• Identify age- and skill-appropriate drills for each age group to include stroke, starts, turns, etc…
• Plan and run practices for each age group.
• Maintain control and safety of swimmers.
• Provide stroke technique instruction to beginning, intermediate, and advanced swimmers.
• Coordinate logistics for each swim meet for swimmers and parents.
• Prepare meet lineups.
• Review meet results (including disqualification issues) and work with swimmers to improve performance.
• Work with the Board to organize and attend various team-sponsored social activities.
• Provide an encouraging environment while fostering learning and team spirit.
• Willingness to get in the water to fine tune stroke mechanics.
• Direction to assistant and junior coaching staff (as needed), and managing staff throughout the season.

Required Qualifications:

• Experience as a head coach, or experience as an Assistant Coach.
• Valid CPR/AED, First-Aid certification.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Effective communications skills (for children and parents).

 Banbury Woods/Hunters Landing TSA summer league swim team is looking for a head coach. 

Our team has 75-80 swimmers, ages 4-18 for the mid-May through mid-July season. Our afternoon practices are from 4-7:30pm Monday-Friday. We are in search of an experienced, mature coach capable of teaching new swimmers all four strokes, dives and competitive turns, and tweaking the technique of our seasoned swimmers. This candidate must also teach the importance of good sportsmanship, team spirit, and community. We have assistant teen coaches at each practice.
