RSA in MAYpril Summer Prep Clinics


RSA in MAYpril seasonal clinics are designed for children, ages four to eighteen, who are interested in summer league swimming.  The Firefish clinics include five fifty minute classes and the Weekend Wahoo clinics include five one hour classes.  Classes focus on skills needed for summer swimming success.  Led by RSA’s professional swim team coaches, the clinics include instruction in stroke technique, starts, turns and finishes, as well as reinforcement drills.  

Clinic Dates:                          4/25/20, 4/26/20, 5/02/20, 5/03/20, 5/9/20

Clinic Times:                         2:00 pm, 3:00 pm or 4:00 pm

Clinic Types:                         Firefish (4-6 years)* or Weekend Wahoo (11-18 years)*

Session of 5 Classes:           $125.00 (includes a RSA cap and a T-shirt)


The Firefish clinics are designed for four to six year olds and are taught in RSA’s warm water instructional pool with in-water and on-deck coaches. The Firefish curriculum focuses on the elements of freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke, with an emphasis on FUN! Participants do not have to be able to swim 25 yards unassisted or be proficient in their strokes, but participants must be able to swim independently.  

The Weekend Wahoo clinics are designed for seven to eighteen year olds and are taught in RSA’s competition pool.  Participants are separated into age groups:  7-10, 11-14, 15-18.  The Weekend Wahoo curriculum focuses on the four competitive strokes, (freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly), as well as starts, turns (for participants eleven years old and older), finishes and drills.  Participants must be able to swim at least 25 yards unassisted.  

Clinics are held at RSA’s Sonner Aquatic Facility located at 1013 Jones Franklin Road in Raleigh, NC.  


*Age is determined by the participant’s age as of 6/01/20 for Weekend Wahoos.

Weldon Ridge Barracudas Seeking Head Coach for Summer 2020 Season

Are you enthusiastic and engaging with kids? Do you enjoy cheering and encouraging swimmers from the pool deck and in the water? Do you have experience teaching proper stroke and turn mechanics? If you answered “yes” to these questions, we want to talk to you! The Weldon Ridge Barracudas Swim Team is seeking an energetic and professional head coach for the upcoming summer 2020 season.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing a consistent, team-wide coaching philosophy for our summer swim team that emphasizes the dual focus of building strong swimmers and promoting a love for being in the water and being part of a team. The head coach works closely with 1-2 assistant coaches to coordinate training sessions that support both individual and team goals. The head coach attends all dual meets and assists in determining and inputting line-ups. This individual must be comfortable working with all age groups (ages 5-18).

General Responsibilities:
 Develop and coach about 100 swimmers of varying skill levels and experience
 Be passionate about swimming while developing the potential of all athletes (as much as you
can in a short summer season)
 Supervise a coaching team made of 1-2 assistant coaches
 Along with assistant coaches, develop a clear plan for training sessions
 Attend one mock meet, six dual meets and the end-of-season Cary City meet
 Assist with pre-meet activities such as determining lineups and filling out heat sheets
 Be a positive role model, maintaining high ethical moral standards
 Communicate professionally and effectively with athletes, parents, coaches and swim board
members via email and text

Qualifications:
 Previous swimming experience (competitive swimming or rec coaching)
 Ability to coach swimmers of all skill levels and experience
 Ability to attend and lead morning and afternoon training sessions
 Knowledge of TSA rules and regulations
 Lifeguard/First Aid/CPR certifications are not required, but are a plus
 Familiarity with Hy-Tek Meet Manager as well as Swimmingly is a plus


The season starts in mid-May and runs through mid-July and includes one mock meet, six dual meets,
and the Cary City meet. Supportive environment and competitive pay offered.

MOR in May Registration Now Open



MOR in May is a great opportunity for Summer League swimmers to refine their skills prior to the beginning of the season. Swimmers ages 5&Up will learn competitive swimming skills over a 3-week period. Age groups are based on the swimmer’s age on June 1, 2020.

All participants must be able to swim 25 yards, unaided, prior to enrolling in this program.

Registration is now open and can be found on the MOR website (www.marlinsofraleigh.com) under Lessons and Clinics.  
The cost is $110 per student.

Coaches needed - Kitts Creek Killer Whales


About the team:

The Kitts Creek Killer Whales Swim Team is a board run 501c3 organization.  The program resides within the Kitts Creek Home Owners Association in Morrisville, NC and is currently seeking swim coaches to coach during the 2020 Triangle Swim Association season.  We have approximately 100 swimmers that range from 6 – 17 years of age.  KCKW is looking for candidates that have high on-deck energy, are positive influences to our swimmers, and are knowledgeable in the sport of swimming.



The coach is expected to attend all practices and meets throughout the season.  The position would include coaching age group level practice groups and providing on deck coaching at swim meets throughout the swim season.  The coach must possess excellent skills in teaching stroke technique and development, as well as enthusiasm for working with children ages 6 - 17.  The position requires 5 days of coaching practice per week and attending one meet a week, including some travel meets.  Practice times are from 5-9 M-Th and 8-12 Sat.



The board also allows hired coaches to provide private lessons outside of the scheduled practice and meet times.  These will be coordinated through the Coaches Liaison and fees for private lessons may be set through the coach at their discretion.



Job Description:

Pay will be competitive and commensurate with experience.  Coaches of all levels are welcome to apply.  Must currently hold or be willing to obtain ARC Safety Training for Swim Coaches including CPR/AED for Adult/Child and American Swimming Coaches Association Level 1.

The above position will be open until suitable candidates are found with an anticipated start for May 2020.

Job Responsibilities

The position is responsible to the safety of the participant in the practice.

Work hours as scheduled which includes beginning and ending class on time.

Remaining after class to answer parent questions as needed

Clean up equipment and supplies.

Implements coaching strategies and teaching methods to develop student athletes’ skills and teamwork; analyzes performance of team and adjust strategies as needed; evaluates opponents and develops meet strategies; plans and conducts practices and other activities in preparation for competition; manages camps and clinics, if applicable.

Attends mandatory meetings and training sessions as scheduled.

Act immediately and appropriately to secure safety of swimmers in the event of emergency.

Presents professional appearance and attitude at all times.

All other duties as assigned and appropriate.



Requirements:

Must have a background of 3 or 4 years of competitive swimming or minimum of one-year experience as a swim instructor

High school diploma, GED or equivalent required

Certification of CPR, AED and First Aid (preferred)

ASCA Level 1-3 certification or higher (preferred)

In accordance with the U.S. Department of Labor physical demands strength ratings, this position will perform light work.

Ability to work in a stationery position and move about the club for prolonged periods of time.

Bentwinds Barracudas need Head Coach.


The Bentwinds Barracudas is currently searching to fill our Head Coaching Position for the 2020 Season. Our summer league supports roughly 90 swimmers ranging in age from 4-18. The summer season runs from May 11 through July 24, the Championship meet, and end of year celebration on July 31.  Bentwinds Golf and Country Club in Fuquay-Varina, NC, just 25 minutes from downtown Raleigh.  

Head Coach - Job Description

Our ideal candidate is a swimmer at heart; has competitive swimming experience, the teaching and organizational skills to help our swimmers become proficient in each of the four swimming strokes, has the ability to motivate and unify a diverse team of widely varying ages and skill levels, and a passion for working with kids. The chosen candidate will have excellent leadership, motivational and mentor-ship skills.

Swimmers, assistant coaches and parents will look to the head coach for a unifying influence and vision for the team that conveys their own joy of swimming. The head coach will coach a specific age group to be determine later while managing the work of a team of assistant coaches. The head coach will ensure that all practices and meets are adequately staffed, that fun and challenging workouts are prepared for each practice, and that swimmers are well prepared swim meets. The Head Coach will, in conjunction with assistant coaches, develop competitive meet lineups. The Head Coach will at times communicate directly with parents regarding swimming-related development activities and answer questions about swimmer progress. The Head Coach will also bring any coaching concerns to the Board of Directors and may meet periodically with the assistant coaches to assess specific areas of need that can be met with team resources.   

Compensation:
The Head Coach will be compensated based upon skill and experience in a range between $18-22 per hour and will be an employee with Bentwinds Golf & Country Club. This position will work from 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm each day of practice Monday – Friday and 4:00 to end of meet on meet days. This position has a maximum of twenty-four hours per week for the eleven-week season and a potential performance based bonus.

Crooked Creek Crocs is Hiring Coaches for 2020


The Crooked Creek Crocs, a community pool located in Fuquay-Varina, is hiring coaches for the 2020 summer season. The Crocs are seeking applicants to join our coaching staff.

The primary goal of the Crooked Creek Crocs is to offer a fun and competitive summer swim program to the youth of the Crooked Creek Community. The coaches' key objectives are to aid swimmers in mastering strokes, setting and achieving goals, practicing good sportsmanship, and developing confidence through swimming.

The positions run from the beginning of May through July. The work schedule will include weekday evening and morning practices and 8 meets throughout the season (includes mock meet and championship meet).

Duties include, but are not limited to, developing seasonal goals, workouts, creating meet lineups, coaching throughout swim meets, data entry, assisting with set up and tear down of meets, and keeping records and reports, as necessary.

Harmony Hammerheads Swim Coach Position

The neighborhood of Harmony (6880 Turner Creek Road, Cary, NC) needs another summer swim coach from the end of May to the end of July.

Our practices are on Monday and Wednesday evenings (coaches need to be there from 5:30 to 8:15 pm), Saturday mornings (coaches need to be there 7:30 to 10:15 am). Coaches need to also be at the six Tuesday night meets.  Coach presence at home meets is from 4:00 to about 10:30 pm and away meets typically 5:00 to 9:30 pm. More hours can also be billed by meet lineup preparation, post meet data management, and other non-pool activities.

Qualifications are having competitive swimming experience at the high school level or above. This could be from a year-round private club (Wave, Yota, Titans, etc.) or from a varsity high school team or even a college team. It is critical that the coach is able to arrange reliable transportation to practices.

Banbury Woods / Hunters Landing seeking Head Swim Coach

Banbury Woods/Hunters Landing TSA summer league swim team is looking for a head coach. 

Our team has 75-80 swimmers, ages 4-18 for the mid-May through mid-July season. Our afternoon practices are from 4-7:30pm Monday-Friday. We are in search of an experienced, mature coach capable of teaching new swimmers all four strokes, dives and competitive turns, and tweaking the technique of our seasoned swimmers. This candidate must also teach the importance of good sportsmanship, team spirit, and community. We have assistant teen coaches at each practice.

Cary Park Sea Dragon Summer Swim Team 2020 Accepting Coaching Applications


Cary Park Sea Dragon Summer Swim Team 2020 Accepting Coaching Applications- application deadline December 31, 2019.

Cary Park Sea Dragons in Cary, NC is accepting applications for energetic and skilled Head Coach and Assistant Coaches for Summer 2020 to help lead our community summer swim team!  If you have a love for children and have swimming or coaching experience, we welcome you to send your resume to us for consideration.  Coaches work together in groups of 3-5 and independently and must be able to work in a cooperative team environment.

Summer 2020 will start mid-May through the end of July.  Coaches lead morning and afternoon practices Monday-Thursday and morning practices Friday & Saturday.   The season includes 6 dual meets generally on Tuesday evenings as well as 1 to 2 end-of-season meets on a Saturday & Sunday.  Preferred candidates will be available for all meets and most practices, beginning in mid-May. Please indicate any prior commitments that may conflict with swim practices or meets. Please refer to the tentative team schedule below.

Coaches are expected to swim in coaches relays at the meets, and if age-eligible (age 18 or younger), are strongly encouraged to join Cary Park Swim Club and swim for Cary Park during meets. You may learn more about our team at www.caryparkswimteam.com.

Lifeguard/First Aid/CPR certifications will be required prior to the start of season.

Competitive pay offered.

The Club at 12 Oaks Seeking Swim Coaches 2020


The Club at 12 Oaks is a private country club located in Holly Springs, NC. Each Summer, our young members participate in the Triangle Swim Association, Southern League (TSA) from late-May through July. Our Youth Department is currently seeking energetic, friendly, and experienced individuals to join our Coaching Staff.
Working on a 3-4 person coaching team, coaches will work with different age groups in training sessions to build confidence, gain techniques, and have fun! Each coach is responsible for working independently as well as on the team to further each swimmer's goals. Coaches will be in the water during practice giving guidance and support.
Candidates requirements:
  • Must have experience working with children.
  • Must have prior experience as a swim coach or assistant.
  • Must have Lifeguard CPR Certification (or be willing to get it before May 1, 2020.)
  • Must be able to promote, lead, teach, and conduct sessions in and out of the water.
  • Must be capable of controlling a group of children and maintaining order.
  • Must be able to enforce rules, act as a role model, and be spatially aware while promoting a fun and safe environment.
  • Must be professional at all times.
  • Must be well-spoken and an effective communicator to children, staff, management, and parents.
  • Must be responsible, have integrity, and a strong work ethic.
  • Experience with Swimmingly and Swimtopia a plus.

Looking for an assistant coach for the Crabtree Swim Machine

The Crabtree Swim Machine is looking for an assistant swim coach! Our club is located about one mile west of Crabtree Valley Mall, just off of Glenwood Avenue. Our team had roughly 100 swimmers last year and we expect to have a similarly sized roster this year.

Familiarity with TSA rules and procedures (as a swimmer and/or coach) would be a big plus! We are especially interested in applicants with some experience setting meet lineups and filling out heat sheets.

Assistant Coach/ Swim Instructor needed at The Raleigh Racquet Club 

Job Description

The Raleigh Racquet Club is looking to fill the position of Assistant Swim Coach & Swim Instructor for the summer 2019 season. A qualified candidate will be able to complete the following requirements:
Raleigh Racquet Club - Assistant Swim Coach & Swim Instructor
  • The Assistant Swim Coach (ASC) position is a part-time, seasonal position beginning May 20th till July 18th.
  • Swim Instruction would be from May 18 - September 29
  • The ASC will be expected to assist in the coaching and supervision of weekly practice sessions and organize swimmers for the 6 weekly meets. The ASC will be supervised by the Head Coach
  • Swim instruction hours will be based on demand and can start when the pool opens May 18 and can go into September
Duties and Responsibilities
Specific responsibilities and expectations include but are not limited to the following:
  • Coach weekly practices and manage swim meets – morning and evening practices 2-3 hours M, W, Th, F, meets Tu 4 hours
  • Help prepare workouts in advance taking into account varying skill levels of the swimmers and receive feedback from the swimmers, head coach, and club manager to make adjustments as needed to ensure workouts are clearly communicated to the swimmers by the coaching staff
  • Ensure all practice changes, pool closures, upcoming activities, volunteer duties and competitions are communicated to swimmers and parents
  • Help plan end of season award banquet
  • Encourage team participation and provide swimmer feedback
  • Enforce the posted pool rules and regulations – maintain a safe environment
  • Other duties as required
  • Instruct children in swimming lesson at a variety of levels. Learn to swim through advanced swimmers.
Rate of Pay – $12.00-$18.00 per hour
Practices -
May 29th – June 10th Afternoon practices M-TH 5:30-6:30
June 11th- July 18th Morning and Afternoon practices
6 Tuesday Night Meets – starting Tuesday June 11th
