Head Coach Opening - Charleston Village Swim Team

The Charleston Village Crocodiles Swim Team is seeking a head coach for the 2017 summer swim season.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Establish practice schedules and workouts for each age group
  • Create a good rapport with the swimmers and parents
  • Provide informative feedback to swimmers
  • Collaborate with the CV Swim Team Board
  • Encourage participation in meets
  • Help swimmers build confidence in their strokes
  • Work with assistant coach to pepare meet line ups
  • Provide a fun and positive environment for the swimmers and their families

Requirements:
  • Knowledge of the four basic strokes (free, breast, back and butterfly)
  • Ability to teach techniques to improve swimmers and their skills
  • Must be available for the summer swim season May-July
  • Must be able to attend meets on Tuesday evenings in the summer
  • Coaching experience is preferred

The pay rate for this position is dependent upon experience.

RSA in Maypril Clinics are Back and Better Than Ever!




Raleigh Swimming Association’s RSA in MAYpril seasonal clinics are designed for children, ages four to fourteen, who are interested in summer league swimming.  Offered on weekdays and weekends, the clinics focus on skills needed for summer success.  Clinics are led by RSA’s professional swim team coaches and include stroke technique, starts, turns, finishes and reinforcement drills. 

RSA in MAYpril clinics are held at RSA’s Sonner Aquatic Facility located at 1013 Jones Franklin Road in Raleigh, NC.  Clinics include:
Firefish: Tuesdays and Thursdays: 5:00 pm or 6:00 pm
Session 1: 4/18/17-5/04/17
Session 2: 5/09/17-5/25/17


Weekday Wahoo: Wednesdays: 7:30 pm
Session:   4/19/17-5/17/17


Firefish and Weekend Wahoo: Saturdays: 2:00 pm or 3:00 pm
Session:  4/29/17-5/20/17


Firefish and Weekend Wahoo: Sundays: 2:00 pm or 3:00 pm
Session:  4/23/17-5/21/17


The Firefish clinics for four to six year olds are taught in RSA’s warm water instructional pool with in-water and on-deck coaches.  Firefish curriculum focuses on the elements of freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke, with an emphasis on FUN.  Participants do not have to be able to swim 25 yards unassisted, but must be comfortable in the water.

The Wahoo clinics for seven to fourteen year olds are taught in a six-lane lap pool with in-water and on deck coaches.  Wahoo curriculum focuses on the four strokes, (Backstroke, Breaststroke, Butterfly and Freestyle), as well as starts, turns, finishes and drills.  Participants must be able to swim 25 yards unassisted.

Now Hiring ASSISTANT COACH for 2016 Division Champs Haddon Hall Hammerheads
The Haddon Hall Hammerheads, located near downtown Apex, are looking to hire an enthusiastic, individual with demonstrated ability teaching stroke mechanics, and the desire to motivate swimmers of all ages and skill levels. The Hammerheads are a 100+ swimmers, TSA South League team of swimmers age 4 to 18 that is run by an enthusiastic and supportive group of parent volunteers. 

Duties include, but are not limited to: teaching proper stroke technique, assist with day-to-day team management, development and supervision of age group appropriate workouts, assist in preparing and submitting meet entries, and create a fun and exciting atmosphere.  Must have current Red Cross certification in Lifeguard Training, CPR. and Community First Aid.
The position is part-time from mid-May through July 20th.
Time Commitment is Monday-Thursday:  (No weekends or early mornings!)

Mid-May thru June 8th (our mock meet will be June 6th):  Monday - Thursday 4:30pm - 8:30pm until traditional calendar schools get out for the summer, then... 
  
June 12 thru July 17th (last meet July 18, party and awards on July 20):  Monday & Thursday 10am-12:30pm + 5:15pm-7:45pm, Wednesdays 4:30pm - 8:30pm,
Tuesday night meets 4pm - until (usually around 9-10pm)
  
You will also need to set aside some time outside of practice on Mondays/Tuesdays to make out the heat sheets for the meets

The ideal candidate will have prior swim team coaching experience, competitive swim team experience, and be proficient with preparing for meets.  Knowledge of TSA rules and regulations is helpful.

Head Coach Wanted, Brighton Forest Swim Team
The Brighton Forest community is looking for an energetic Head Coach to lead the community swim team. We are looking for someone who enjoys working with young people and loves the sport of swimming. This is an eight-week commitment, starting the day after Memorial Day (May 30) and concluding with the season-ending TSA Championship on July 22.

The Head Coach plays an integral role in the development and leadership of the overall program. With the help of an assistant coach, you will provide a fun and safe atmosphere for our swimmers.

To fit this role, candidates should be outgoing, responsible and have passion for developing youth swimmers.

Job responsibilities include:
n  Developing and coaching practices
n  Providing feedback to swimmers after their events at swim meets
n  Reading swimmers and assessing their needs
n  Listening and providing direction
n  Completing meet heat assignments per TSA rules

The ideal candidate will have the following skills:
n  2 years of experience as a competitive swimmer or coach
n  Strong organizational skills
n  The ability to supervising multiple age groups
n  Strong people and “kid” skills
n  Ability to enforce rules in a professional manner, but still maintain a fun, enjoyable atmosphere for swimmers

Commitment includes Monday, Thursday and Saturday practices, with expectations of being at the Brighton Forest subdivision pool between approximately 5:15 and 8 pm on weeknights and 8-10 am on Saturdays. There are 6 head-to-head meets, to be held on Tuesday nights beginning June 13 and ending July 18.

Head Coach Opening at Renaissance Park!


The Ren Park Rays are seeking an experienced, energetic Head Swim Coach for the upcoming summer swim season.  The Renaissance Park neighborhood is located in South Raleigh at the corner of Tryon & 401.  We are a relatively small and developing team with supportive and involved parents, a beautiful pool with basic practice/meet equipment, several junior coaches, and about 40 eager youth swimmers.  

The season is 8 weeks longs, running from May 30th to July 23rd.   Coaching will require approximately 12 hours each week at late afternoon/early evening practices on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, Tuesday evening meets, and a weekend Championship meet.
