Swim Coach Job Description

The Swim Coach should possess:
*The ability to demonstrate energy and enthusiasm for teaching and motivating young swimmers
*A true love for working with swimmers of all ability levels including pre-competitive and competitive level swimmers
*A passion about teaching proper stroke technique of all four strokes, the essentials of competitive swimming and sportsmanship to young people of all ages
*The ability to manage 6 and under mentors
*The ability to develop swim meet line-ups
*Knowledge of meet seeding by time standards
*Access to E-mail daily
*Strong communication and organizational skills with swimmers, parents, and assistant
coach       
*Competitive swimming experience
*The ability to demonstrate proper sportsmanship to assistant coaches, swimmers and parents
*The ability to demonstrate diplomacy in interactions with other coaches

Certifications Required:
First Aid and CPR/AED
Lifeguard

Job Requirements:

*Plan and implement practice workouts for swimmers of all ages, while considering each age group’s developmental stage
*Be present at the assigned practices and willing to instruct in the water, if the need arises
*Be present at time trials, 6 regular season meets, championship meet(s), swim team fun night and other team building activities
* Along with the assistant coach, seed the meets and reseed as necessary if the meet is postponed
* Make swimmers aware of previous night’s DQ’s and help swimmers rectify their errors
* Attend TSA’s preseason coaches’ meeting

Pay:
The Swim Coach is a fixed salary position

*Carry out tasks as assigned by the head coach
*Be present at the assigned practices and willing to instruct in the water, if the need arises
*Be present at time trials, 6 regular season meets, championship meet(s), swim team fun night and other team building activities
* Along with the head coach, seed the meets and reseed as necessary if the meet is postponed
* Recruit and assign mentors for 6 and under group
* Organize swim meet ribbons, bringing DQ’s to the Head Coach’s attention.

Pay:
The Assistant Swim Coach is a fixed salary position.
